TIPS FOR ACCOUNTANTS.
How to score the MAXIMUM POINTS for Skilled Migration.
ANZSCO Group 2211 (Accountant (general), Management Accountant, Taxation Accountant)
Accounting has been an ever-popular occupation when it comes to General Skilled Migration in Australia. In the past few years the planning numbers (number of invitations) reserved for accountants were about 5000 per year. However there has been a sudden decline in this number reducing the invited to just 2525 places in the 2015-16 migration programme year.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The Points Requirement for accountants has gone up.
Spots for accountants were filled very quickly and the government decided to allot invitations on a “PRO-RATA BASIS” Which simply means- higher your points, better your chance of getting invited. Very similar to university admissions which depend on your 12th grade scores.
Based on the results from September 2015 invitation round accountants are getting an ITA (invitation to apply) only if - either they scored 70+ points OR they lodged their application before 31st August 2015.
HOW TO SCORE MORE POINTS?
Since the points requirement has gone up, the only plausible solution is to obtain MAXIMUM POINTS and get selected on pro-rata basis. Here’s what you can do:
